Workshops and Classes
Imagine with Art workshops and classes give you the opportunity to step into the creative moment where intuition and freedom of expression take flight.
Sketching, painting and collage instruction are combined with meditation, movement and writing in a playful and supportive atmosphere.
Creative expression, healing and spiritual insight are emphasized over mastery of technique. No previous painting experience is necessary.

Learn to paint intuitively, capturing thoughts, feelings and intuitions in the playful format of art journaling. Each session features a different mixed media painting technique which you can add to your repertoire - from textured collage to painting techniques with inks and acrylics. Meditation and writing are added to the mix to evoke that powerful Muse energy! |

A Vitality Quest at Osmosis Day Spa
Osmosis has created a deeply nurturing morning including a Cedar Enzyme Bath, 75 minute massage and sound healing session in the new hammock garden. Susan Cornelis will be the guide in this afternoon of meditation, art instruction and reflective time alone. Watch your creative spirit take flight as you capture your experience on paper through images and words.

Learn to express your inner voice in this playful mixed media workshop. Your imagination will take flight as you paint, draw, stamp, comb and splash colorful inks onto papers textured with collage.

Art Journal Fun with Image Transfers
Free Demonstration at Rileystreet Art Supply, Santa Rosa
Presenter: Susan Cornelis
Sunday, July 8, 11am-1pm
Do you love the sense of mystery evoked when images and words are superimposed over painted surfaces? In this demo Susan will first create a spontaneous abstract underpainting using fluid acrylics and fingers only! Then she will demonstrate a method to transfer a transparent image onto the painted surface using clear contact paper, a toner copied print and acrylic gel.
Learn to add personal meaning to your paintings by incorporating images such as copies of old family photos, favorite poems printed in unique fonts, and copyright-free images. Guidance will be given in how to select images that will work to greatest effect in a transparent transfer as well as in how to incorporate the image seamlessly into the final piece.
Participants will also be introduced to a practice of art journaling as an ongoing practice to experiment with new art materials and techniques while accessing inner wisdom.

The Healing Art of Writing
A Conference and Writing Workshop

This conference offers a unique experience in bringing together caregivers and patients who share a passion for writing about the mysterious forces of illness and recovery.
